Soccer Ties With North Central
Pullman boys soccer continues to hold its place near the top of the Greater Spokane League 2A standings, showing consistency even in tightly contested matches.
On April 14, Pullman (6-1-2, 5-0) played to a 1-1 draw at home against North Central in a matchup between two competitive sides. Despite not coming away with a win, the Greyhounds maintained their position as one of the league’s top teams.
Pullman struck first when Owen Shulenberger found the back of the net in the 12th minute off an assist from Aaron Swenson, giving the Greyhounds an early edge. However, North Central responded in the 24th minute with an equalizer from Jonah McKinley, and the match remained deadlocked the rest of the way.
Both teams were evenly matched statistically, each recording six shots. In goal, Fernando Guzman delivered a solid performance for Pullman with five saves, matching North Central’s Jack Lawson.
While the Greyhounds couldn’t secure the win, the result highlights their ability to compete in tight, defensive battles. With a strong record and steady performances on both ends of the field, Pullman remains firmly in control of its standing and continues to look like a serious contender in league play.
