Greyhounds Handle Conditions, Earn 3–0 Win over Clarkston
The Pullman Greyhounds earned a 3–0 win over the Clarkston Bantams on Tuesday afternoon at Windy Gulch, navigating a steady rain and muddy field conditions to collect another league result.
It was a glorious day soccer.
The rain came down throughout, the field was heavy, and every touch required a little more intention. Add in the absence of starters Isaiah Bischoff and Matteo Rehwaldt, and the match became less about flow and more about mentality—doing the simple things well and staying committed for 80 minutes.
Pullman handled that challenge.
The breakthrough came in the 26th minute when Adi Alshuwayhi curled a composed finish inside the left post off an assist from Jaeyeol Oh, giving the Greyhounds a 1–0 lead. It was the type of goal the conditions demanded—decisive, clean, and taken when the opportunity presented itself.
Twelve minutes later, Pullman doubled the lead. Owen Shulenberger finished a well-worked sequence from the right side, slotting a left-footed shot home after a setup from Imer Larios to make it 2–0 heading into halftime.
From there, the match settled into a rhythm that favored discipline.
Pullman limited Clarkston to just five total shots while matching that defensive effort with five saves when needed. On the attacking side, the Greyhounds generated 10 shots and five corners, creating enough pressure without overextending in difficult conditions.
The final goal came late.
In the 80th minute, Alshuwayhi worked his way to the endline and played a ball back across goal where Jaeyeol Oh finished with a left-footed strike, sealing the 3–0 result.
What stood out most wasn’t just the goals—it was the approach.
Games like this test a different side of a team. The surface takes away precision, the weather challenges focus, and the game can easily become stretched or chaotic. Pullman stayed composed, defended with organization, and found moments to be clinical.
No cards. No loss of discipline. Just a steady, professional performance.
With the result, the Greyhounds continue to build momentum in league play, showing they can adapt not only to different opponents, but to different conditions as well.
Not every win is about how it looks.
Sometimes it’s about doing what the game requires.
