Pullman Boys Soccer Earns Strong 2–0 Victory Over West Valley
The Pullman Greyhounds continued their impressive Spring 2026 campaign with a commanding 2–0 win over West Valley on March 31 in Greater Spokane League 2A action. Playing at home, Pullman controlled the pace of the match and capitalized on key opportunities to secure the shutout victory.
Pullman struck first midway through the opening half when Owen Shulenberger calmly converted a penalty kick at the 20-minute mark. The early goal gave the Greyhounds momentum and allowed them to dictate play for the remainder of the half.
The Greyhounds’ defensive performance was just as impressive as their attack. Pullman held West Valley to just four total shots, with goalkeeper Fernando Guzman making two saves to preserve the shutout. Notably, Pullman is the only team to shut out West Valley so far this season, highlighting the strength and organization of their defense.
In the second half, Pullman added to its lead with a well-worked play. Aaron Swenson set up Miles Turneaure, who finished in the 56th minute to make it 2–0 and effectively seal the win.
Pullman consistently pressured West Valley throughout the match, outshooting the Eagles 9–4. Despite an impressive seven-save effort from West Valley goalkeeper Liam Mortensen, the Greyhounds’ attack proved too difficult to contain.
Beyond this season, Pullman’s dominance in the matchup runs deep. Over the past 15 years, the Greyhounds have compiled an impressive 34–4 record against West Valley, underscoring a long-standing edge in the rivalry.
With the victory, Pullman improves to 5-1-1 overall and remains unbeaten in league play at 4-0. The Greyhounds will look to build on this momentum as they continue their strong run through the GSL 2A season.
