Pullman Walks It Off to Edge West Valley 5–4

The Pullman Greyhounds delivered a gritty, come-from-behind performance Monday afternoon, defeating the visiting West Valley Eagles 5–4 in a Greater Spokane League 2A matchup in Pullman.

Trailing early and held scoreless through the first three innings, Pullman found its breakthrough in the fourth. The Greyhounds erupted for four runs in that frame despite recording just five hits all game, capitalizing on key moments and West Valley miscues to seize momentum.

The game remained tight into the late innings, with the Eagles tying things at 4–4 in the sixth. But Pullman answered immediately in the bottom half with poise. With the bases loaded, Grant Lovinger drew a clutch walk that forced Braden Barnett across the plate for the go-ahead—and ultimately game-winning—run.

Pullman’s pitching held firm the rest of the way. Adrian Hecker, who earned the win in relief, shut down West Valley in the final inning to secure the victory and preserve the one-run lead.

While offense was limited in terms of hits, the Greyhounds made theirs count. Adrian Hecker, Will Denney, Grant Lovinger, Cash McCann, and Braden Barnett each recorded a hit, while multiple players contributed RBIs in a balanced effort. The team also benefited from disciplined at-bats and situational execution, particularly in their decisive fourth and sixth innings.

Defensively, Pullman was sharp, committing just one error compared to three by West Valley—an edge that proved critical in such a close contest.

With the win, Pullman improves to 3-1 overall and 3-1 in league play, showing resilience and the ability to win tight games. The Greyhounds’ ability to manufacture runs and deliver under pressure signals a team finding its stride early in the Spring 2026 season.
