Pullman High School Shows Strong Effort at Lewiston Invitational

At the Lewiston Invitational on March 21, 2026, Pullman High School turned in a competitive and well-rounded performance against a deep field of teams from across the region. The Greyhounds finished 7th overall in the boys standings with 40 points and 10th in the girls standings with 43.5 points, showcasing both emerging talent and standout individual performances.

On the boys side, Pullman was highlighted by a major victory from Ryan Ha, who cleared 6-3 to win the high jump and secure one of the team’s top performances of the day. In the pole vault, Luke Genz added valuable points with a strong 3rd-place finish, clearing 12-0.

Distance events also proved productive for Pullman. Cade Udy delivered a solid effort in the 800 meters, finishing 5th in 2:04.65, while Cade Udo placed 6th in the 1600 meters with a time of 4:32.96. These performances demonstrated Pullman’s depth in middle-distance events.

In the sprints, Israel Manfreda competed in both the 100 and 200 meters, placing 9th and 10th respectively, contributing to the team’s overall scoring effort. Over the hurdles, Eli Carter added another top-10 finish in the 110-meter hurdles.

Field events continued to be a strength for the Greyhounds. Judah Fitzgerald earned a 6th-place finish in the triple jump, while Stephen Baker placed 10th in the javelin. These contributions helped Pullman remain competitive in a meet dominated by larger programs like Coeur d’Alene and Lewiston.

The girls team also showed resilience and promise. In the 800 meters, Randi Mattix led the way with a 5th-place finish, while Ada Harris placed 9th in the 1600 meters. Aubrey Lightfoot added a top-10 finish in the 3200 meters, continuing Pullman’s strength in distance running.

In the field events, Hana Tanaka stood out with a 4th-place finish in the high jump and also competed in the 300-meter hurdles. Maile Sandberg contributed in multiple events, including a 4th-place tie in the pole vault and a 6th-place finish in the javelin. Lexi Doumit delivered one of the girls’ top finishes with a 3rd-place throw in the javelin, earning a spot on the podium.

Additional contributions came from Elizabeth Fitzgerald in the high jump and Lesego Olorunleke in the shot put, rounding out a strong team effort.

Overall, Pullman High School’s performance at the Lewiston Invitational highlighted a balanced mix of top-tier finishes and valuable depth across events. With several athletes placing in scoring positions and a standout win from Ryan Ha, the Greyhounds showed they are building momentum early in the season and will be a team to watch as the year progresses.
