Hounds Leave Hornets Stung, Cruise To The Win In First Round Of State Tournament.

Coming into the state playoffs with an impressive 16-2 record, the Hounds sealed a 4-0 victory against the White River Hornets at Windy Gulch on Wednesday afternoon. The Hounds got going early with junior Evan French putting in a rebounded PK against Hornets keeper Karsen Trudgon. Soon after, Senior Carlens Dollin buried a second goal to seal a 2-0 lead at the end of the first half.

The second half was no different for the Hounds as they calmly controlled the ball throughout. After numerous attempts on goal by Sophomore Clarens Dollin, he finally dropped one just inside the right post to put the Hounds up 3-0. They sealed the hard fought win when Sophomore Ben Limburg beat the defense and slotted his shot past Trudgon for his first Varsity goal ever. Pullman’s defense, led by Senior Clay Johnson and Junior Ben Campbell put up a valiant effort, snuffing out any hope of a comeback from the Hornets and posting their 13th shutout this season. Keeper Aaron Oatley had 6 saves working well with the defense for this shutout.

Pullman hopes to extend their state run in the Quarterfinals on Saturday against 3 seed Franklin Peirce (17-1-2) and eventually make it to the final four in Renton next weekend.
