Greyhounds sink the Pirates win 5-0

The Pullman Greyhounds (12-2) took on the Rogers Pirates(4-9) in the Hounds 9th conference match of the season. The Greyhounds after beating Rogers at their place earlier this season 9-0 were not expecting very strong competition. However Rogers did put up some fight until the 22′ minute when junior forward Carlens Dollin scored his 16th goal of the season off a beautiful assist by sophomore Evan French. That seemed to be the breaking point in the game as the Hounds  managed to score three more goals in the first half. Two more goals by Carlens Dollin in the 30′ and 32′ minute gave him a first half hat-trick. The final goal of the half came in the 40′ minute when Aidan Crossler off of a assist by Aaron Oatley managed to slide the ball past the Rogers goalkeeper. The second half went like the first, with the Greyhounds dominating both sides of the field. Although the Hounds were clearly the better team they only managed to score one more goal that game and that came off of a cross by Carlens Dollin to Evan French who managed to capitalize on the opportunity. The Greyhounds defense led by Seniors Ben Goodell and goal keeper Tom Cole managed to keep a clean sheet for their 10th of the season and their third in a row.

Up Next: The (14-2) Greyhounds take on the (12-3) West Valley Eagles this Tuesday (5/3) with the winner claiming the 2A GSL title.
