Hounds ground Eagles win 2-0!

The Pullman Greyhounds (10-2) took on the Lakeside Eagles (9-2) in the Hounds 7th non-conference match of the season. This game for both teams was huge, the winner of the game would have a sizeable jump in state rankings while the loser especially if the Hounds lost, would take a significant drop. The Hounds like they have consistently done for most of the season scored fast. Their first goal happened in the 12′ minute when senior midfielder Ian Oatley (2nd) ripped a shot right at the Lakeside goalkeeper who couldn’t control the ball and it ended up bouncing in. Just a minute prior to this goal the one and only yellow card of the game was handed out to Jake Duer of Lakeside for his reckless tackle on Greyhound Leon Lange. Although their were no other goals scored for the rest of this half Lakeside managed to find some quality good looks all of which senior Goal keeper Tom Cole managed to save. The second half like the first was a back and forth game with neither team managing to breakthrough until the 77′ minute when Pullman’s Carlens Dolin managed to score his 13 goal of the season on a shot from outside the 18 yard box. This brought the score to 2-0 and the game ended at that with the Hounds goalkeeper registering 6 saves on the day. The win also brought the Hounds up to number 9 in the states rankings.

Up Next: The (11-2) Greyhounds take on the (4-7) East Valley Knights  this Wednesday (4/21) in the Hounds third game in as many days.
