Hounds first home game turn’s sour in 2-1 loss to Mead
The Pullman Grey Hounds (2-1) took on the Mead Panthers (0-1-1) in the Hounds first home game of the season. The Hounds once again started off slow and Mead took advantage hitting 2 corners within the first 8 minutes, which the Hounds managed to deal with, albeit not convincingly. At the 11′ minute mark, the Panthers broke through. A turnover in midfield had the ball drop right at the feet of Caleb Putney of Mead HS, who then lobbed a ball over the heads over the defense and found the feet of Tristan Mollote who took a touch around the Hounds goal keeper and scored. The rest of the half went back and forth with both teams ripping shots. The Second half started off with the same way the first half ended with a chippy and aggressive game. 4 Minutes into the second half Senior left back Santiago Alzate brought down a Mead player and they got into it, leaving him with a yellow card. Mead was able to cross the free kick which followed into the box where it bounced around and found the foot of Carson Tucker who placed it into the bottom corner giving Mead a 2-0 lead in the 45′. The Hounds although responded fast with Evan French scoring a penalty in the 48′ minute. The rest of the game went back and forth with it getting progressively more chippy and the fouls getting worse. In the 68′ Mead defender Eli Johnson picked up a yellow card. The Hounds after that never managed to break through but forced 5 saves from Meads Senior goalkeeper.
